Help us develop an improved sensor system for passenger detection. During this internship, you will have the opportunity to conduct theoretical research as well as practical validation.

During your internship, you will work on a challenging assignment: developing an improved sensor system for passenger detection; taking into account environmental conditions, installation and adjustment and the potential for additional added value.

What will you do?

During this internship, you will be engaged in researching, evaluating and testing an improved sensor concept to replace the existing sensor. You will map the performance under various environmental conditions and make proposals that facilitate installation and adjustment.

In this process, you also include additional added value for passengers or operators. Here you can think of features such as direction detection for a count or implement a contactless open command.

The new sensor concept should:

  • Detecting passengers.
  • Reliable performance on reflective or shiny surfaces.
  • Working effectively in rain and other extreme weather conditions.
  • Contain an easy-to-install mounting solution for use in buses.
  • Have a water- and dust-tight connection to the vehicle's wiring.
  • Provide an intuitive way to adjust or configure the sensor.
  • Additional features support.

You provide concept design(s) and prototype(s) of the proposed sensor. You also provide a test setup and validation results under various environmental conditions. You provide recommendations for implementation in the door system.

Who are you?

  • You are studying an HBO degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics specialisation) or a similar technical course;

Employment conditions

Internship fee

You will receive an internship allowance of €30 gross per day as compensation for your time and effort.

Flexible working hours

In the office, you start and leave between 7:30 - 9:00 and 16:30 - 18:00. Start earlier or later? No problem.

ADV days

Around the holidays, we often have compulsory ADV days, a day when the entire staff is off. So that includes you.

Focus on development

We focus on your development and offer support or courses where necessary.

Sociability

With the company or within your team, we organise various outings; fairs, BBQs, get-togethers, you name it!
